How to keep this heated mat in good condition for the next winter?
1. Check heating mat, power plug and connectors are not damaged 2. Wipe the surface and remove the dirt, snow and other debris 3. Hang the mat and allow it to air dry 4. Make sure connectors are wrapped by electrical tape to protect them from water or moisture 5. How to turn on and turn off the mat, I don’t want to plug and unplug it all the time?
Press RESET to turn on the mat and press TEST to turn off the mat. Can I leave the snow melt mat outside all winter?
Yes, MEGA YU NENG s' snow melting mats are durable enough to be left outside all winter long. However, don’t remain mats heating all winter long, we suggest you turn on the mat when need and turn it of after use. Optional electrical switches with timer functions are available, which can save you money on energy costs and extend service life. Would this keep a plastic drum at 100 degrees without any problems?
Yes, this MEGA YU NENG drum heating uses an internal fixed thermostat that is designed to maintain a temperature of approximately 100 °F ± 10 °F. So it is completely safe to leave on your barrel for extended periods of time without worry of melting the barrel or overheating. We use a flame-resistant shell that is extremely robust and will not hold a flame. You can go ahead and use this drum heating blanket without any worry of melting your barrel. About how long does this blanket take to heat a drum?
Determining a time to heat will require a little bit more information from you about your product, application and desired temperature. What is the ambient temperature where your barrels are being used? What is the starting temperature of your product? What is the desired temperature you are needing to maintain inside your barrels? If your barrels are outdoors, what would be an approximate wind speed? What happens if the product inside your barrels gets too hot? All these variables play a factor in determining a time to heat and will be needed to give you more accurate time to heat.
